Arise & Build

Freedom is not a location. What begins inside one classroom keeps flowing β€” into restored lives, stronger families, and a place to land.

The River Keeps Flowing

β€œEverything will live where the river goes.” Ezekiel 47:9, NLT

What began inside one classroom continues flowing into restored lives, stronger families, meaningful employment, transitional housing, and communities filled with hope.

One of the greatest privileges of serving 1440 is watching God answer prayers in ways we never could have imagined. For years, we prayed for more space at Jess Dunn Correctional Center so we could serve more men. That prayer is being answered.

The most unexpected development is this: the Oklahoma Department of Corrections has asked us to help envision what it would look like to make Jess Dunn a gold-star example of a true re-entry facility. They've tried to build that model for years with different partners and hadn't found the right fit. What they're seeing in 1440 Arise & Build β€” men in the prison being trained, housing waiting for them, jobs and support in place when they get out β€” is the model they've been looking for.

The river keeps flowing.

A Place to Land

Re-entry is not just about walking out the gate β€” it's about having somewhere to go. Arise & Build provides transitional housing so the men we serve have a stable place to rebuild, surrounded by people who believe in them.

The Vision Ahead

God is expanding the work. Here's where the river is flowing next.

More Classrooms

The Warden has designated additional space β€” two more classrooms β€” so we can run two to three classes at a time starting in 2027. That takes us from serving roughly 20 men at a time to impacting 75 to 100 men a year.

Work Inside the Walls

We're working with businesses to bring meaningful, paid work into the prison itself β€” something the men can do while they're still inside, building skills and momentum before release.

A Gold-Star Model

Partnering with the Oklahoma DOC to help shape Jess Dunn into a diamond-level example of what true re-entry can look like β€” training, housing, jobs, and support, all in place.

Help Us Build the Next Home

Three to five more men will need housing in the next six months, and we're praying and planning for a second Arise & Build home. Your support helps us prepare a place for them to land.
